The experience behind the work

GTA Concrete Guard is a new company in Ontario. The experience behind it is not. Before founding the company in Richmond Hill, owner Mehrzad Akhlaghi, a civil engineering graduate, spent about 20 years on construction sites in Iran, including 15 years as a construction superintendent.

This page shows a selection of those projects, from foundations and concrete frames to finished buildings. It is here so you can see how he works and how well he knows concrete: how it is formed, poured and finished, and so where and why it cracks and leaks.

Please note: these photos show the owner's personal work history before GTA Concrete Guard. They are not GTA Concrete Guard jobs, they were not done in Canada, and the company does not present them as its own projects.
01 Concrete and foundations

From footing to frame

Formwork, rebar and concrete pours: the same walls and slabs we now repair. Knowing how they are built is how we know where and why they crack and leak.

Foundation wall pourCrew placing concrete in a reinforced foundation wall.
Basement wall formworkTightening the tie rods. Their holes are a common leak point in GTA basements.
Basement wall startersStarter bars where the wall meets the footing. This joint is a common leak point.
